Day 3

Yes I know there's not a day 1 or 2, cuz I just decided to do a blog for my weight loss. I will prob post what I eat on here cuz I think it will help me take a good look at what i'm putting into my body. I am currently around 280lbs. and my goal weight is about 130-140lbs.

On sunday Jack, my brother Anthony, and his fiancee Arielle went and joined a gym (gymx.com) and got a really great rate. Jack and I have been getting up at 4am to go workout and we both really like it. I have really stopped and taken a long hard look at the nutritional info on every food that I come in contact with and what i'm seeing is VERY alarming. No wonder "An estimated 97 million adults in the United States are overweight or obese." GEEZUS!!! That's ridiculous.

Today's Progress:
Treadmill 20 min.= 1 mile
Recumbent Bike 17 min.= 4 miles

Food for the day:
Breakfast-
a bowl of total bran cereal, 1 cup of coffee
Snack- a 90 calorie Quaker mini delights peanut butter flavor
Lunch- tuna salad sandwich with Natural white cheddar cheetos, bottle of water
Dinner- Turkey spaghetti with whole wheat pasta, veggies, water

Excellent start.

One thing I just read that might help is to structure your promises to your self in terms of "if I x then I will y" and make x something that WILL happen. For example -- "If I wake up, then I will do my morning exercise" or "If I'm hungry, then I'll eat according to my plans". The brain is hardwired to treat these differently than unstructured thoughts.

We are VERY VERY proud of you and Jack -- we know you'll do well!
